As we mentioned in previous articles during the last stage of the menstrual cycle normally a layer of endometriosis lining in the inside of the uterus is expelled, known as menstruation blood but instead some of the endometriosis tissues grow somewhere in the body causing endometriosis. Endometriosis also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycleby building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. In this article, we will discuss what is diagnostic hysteroscopy in endometriosis ?
Hysteroscopy is an examination that involves inserting a narrow medical scope through the cervical opening to provide a visual inspection of the cervical canal and uterine cavity.
After insertion of the narrow medical scope, the doctor will inflate the uterus with either fluid or gas to provide the better view of the interior of the uterus. If there are any suspicious abnormality, the doctor may take some fluid sample and photographs. Normally, you will be given local anesthesia. Don't eat or drink after midnight before the day of procedure is recommended.
There are three types.
a) One is the mechanical type of complications such as swelling.
b) The second is complications from the energy source that uses during the hysteroscopic diagnosis.
c) Leaking fluids and absorption of the fluids during the procedure.
